  • There is an appropriate amount of 3.3 M KCL solution in the protective bottle at the front end of the electrode. The electrode tip is soaked in it to maintain the activation of the glass bulb and liquid interface. When measuring, loosen the protective bottle, remove the electrode, and rinse with deionized water before use.
  • Before measurement, attention should be paid to throwing away the bubbles inside the glass bubble, otherwise it will cause measurement errors. During measurement, the electrode should be stirred in the test solution and placed still to accelerate the response.
  • Check if the joint is dry and clean. If there is any contamination, it needs to be wiped clean and dried before use.
  • It is recommended to use the two-point method to calibrate the electrode, usually by first calibrating the position with pH 6.86 buffer solution, and then determining the slope with pH 4.01 or pH 9.18 buffer solution.
  • After use, clean the electrode and insert it into a protective bottle, then tighten the bottle cap to prevent the solution from leaking out.
  • The electrode should be cleaned regularly. If the electrode glass bulb is contaminated with the PTFE ring liquid interface, the following reagents can be used for cleaning.

a. Surface active agent cleaning.

b. Calcium precipitates or metal hydroxides can be cleaned with 10% dilute hydrochloric acid.

c. Sulfide precipitation can be cleaned with 10% dilute hydrochloric acid.

d. Protein attachments can be cleaned with a mixture of 10% dilute hydrochloric acid and pepsin.
